Steven Grives Jr., 73

| February 14, 2022 6:01 PM

Steven Grives Jr., 73, of Big Arm, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022.

He was born May 10, 1948 in Pasadena, Calif., to Steve and Dolores Grives.

After high school, Steve joined the Navy and was deployed during the Vietnam War. Through his 16 years of military service, including Army and National Guard, he chose to serve as a police officer. During his 33 years as a police officer, he served the communities he represented with honor and courage.

Beginning in Southern California, he continued to make his mark in his career into the greater Sacramento area and finally retired to the place he always hoped — Montana. He was a member of the American Legion, a lifetime member of the NRA, Rangemaster, FTO and the proudest Boy Scout leader around. During his down time, he enjoyed rock climbing, camping, four-wheeling, shooting and a plethora of home improvement projects. Even with these, what he really loved was chocolate, and more importantly, his family.

Steven was married to his wife, Cindy, for almost 25 years. He is survived not only by her, but also his five children and their families: Heather (Shawn), Taryn (Le), Steven (Sophia), Alexander and Sophia (Monica); granddaughter Kaila and great-granddaughter Makenna; as well as six sisters, Linda, Gail, Sandy, Michelle, Debbie and Sherrie, and their families.
