Babysitting 101 Class: 10 lesson topics, 17 assignments and takes three hours average to complete. Sign-up for free with your library card. Go to libbyapp.com, enter your location and card number to make an account. Click the library icon, scroll down to extras. Select Universal Class to register. You have renewable 30-day access to Babysitting 101 and over 600 other courses! Ages 13-18: Bring your certification to the Library by June 30, and we’ll give you a coffee card!
First Friday Acoustic Music in the Library Atrium. June 3 starting at 3:30 p.m.: Join us for the first program in this new monthly series. Intentionally scheduled between Friday Farmers’ Market & First Friday downtown shopping & events, this relaxing musical moment in the Library will provide a cool respite in summer activities. Local musician Doug Trost will play music in a variety of styles, including jazz & country.
Used Book & Media Sale: Friday & Saturday June 3-4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Friends of the Library will be holding their sale in our large meeting room. You will be amazed at the very organized selection available. There will also be a raffle for a beautiful Amish quilt!
Join us Saturday, June 11 at 10 a.m. for a Mystery/Suspense Authors’ Panel! Leslie Budewitz, Christine Carbo and Gwen Florio will be here to read from and talk about their books and the genres they specialize in. They will also be selling and signing their books.
“Life’s A Beach Read!”: June 21 from 11 a.m. to Noon. Please join us to hear the backstory of the beach read, explore genrefication, and find your next great ‘read’. Served up with sea shells and lemonade!
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten: This is a national initiative to increase early childhood literacy. Reading to your child fosters a love of reading at an early age and is a wonderful bonding activity. Children who have been read to at home have an advantage when learning to read for themselves. By reading just one book a day, you will have read 1,095 books in just three years. Sign up at northlakecolibrary.readsquared.com to log your progress and collect fun prizes along the way for both you and your kiddos!
Story Time! Thursdays at 9:15 a.m. This program is geared toward ages 3-5 but all are welcome! We will read a few books followed by a fun craft or activity. June 2nd will be the last Story Time until Fall.
Mondays mean Mother Goose! Join us at 9:15 a.m. Mother Goose is geared toward ages 0 to 3, but all are welcome. We encourage parents & caregivers to participate with their children for this early learning time. The doors open at 9 a.m.
