Frank D. Neary
Frank D. Neary, 86, St Ignatius (formerly Jamestown, N.D. and Los Angeles, Calif., passed away peacefully on the morning of June 8, 2022 of natural causes.
Frank was born on Oct. 26, 1935 in Lead, S.D., to Frank J and Ella Y Neary. While he was in grade school, the family moved to southern California. Frank attended Burbank High School, and later Pepperdine University to pursue an Aerospace Engineering degree. Frank worked as an Manufacturing Engineer for Collins Radio, Voi Shan, and later, Western Gear Corporation in Jamestown, ND, from which he retired in 1997.
Following retirement, Frank and Sherry built their retirement home in St. Ignatius, MT, enjoying many friendships. Frank married Sharris Ann Madden on December 14th, 1957 and from this union came Mark, Keith, Karen, Ann, and John. Frank enjoyed many hobbies such as woodworking, working on his ’32 Ford Pickup hot rod, growing a great lawn, reporting on the passings of animals as they walked through his yard, and being active in his church. He was a master craftsman and was always building or planning something. All of his creations are cherished family heirlooms.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brother Paul J. Neary, and his oldest daughter, Karen Edinger. He is survived by his children, Mark Neary, Keith Neary, Ann Hoggarth, and John (Nancy) Neary, 16 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.
A Rosary Prayer Service will be held at the St. Ignatius Mission on 6/16/22. The funeral will be held at the St. Ignatius Mission on Friday 6/17/22.
