Clardel Emerald 'Carrie' Priddy, 84

Clardel Emerald “Carrie” Priddy, age 84, passed away Feb. 21, 2022.

It was her choice to pass away at the home in Dixon where she was born and lived for many years. She was born to RW “Buster” and Mae Olsen Priddy, and she got her first name from the lady who helped deliver her on Jan. 18, 1938. She was known as Carrie to family and friends even though she had a sophisticated first name.

Carrie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Buck Priddy and Luella Williams. She is survived by Edeline Davis, Ed Priddy, Mike Priddy and Patti (Pat) Marmon, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Carrie was raised in Dixon and graduated from Dixon High School. After high school she married Gene Nett, and they lived in other parts of the state for a short time before settling in Dixon, close to other family members. She loved the area and the land that she ranched and took care of for many years, especially when helped by her nephew, Justin.

Carrie loved to travel the rodeo circuit and barrel raced in and out of Montana and in Canada. She enjoyed time with family and friends. Since she had no children of her own, she treasured all the nieces and nephews who gathered around her over the years.

She had an infectious laugh and a gentle spirit and was a loyal friend to many. Carrie battled cancer with grace and courage ‘til the end. She died peacefully at home, as was her request, while surrounded by the love of family.

A memorial service will be held with immediate family only in the near future.
