Jim Mee captures Lake City Open title
Jim Mee of Libby shot a 68 Saturday and followed it up with a 67 Sunday to claim the Pro Division title and the $3,500 top prize at the 2022 Lake City Open at Polson Bay Golf Club last weekend. Mee finished 9-under-par in the two-day event.
The annual event is a fundraiser for the Polson Scholarship and Education Foundation.
Sean Ramsbacher of Missoula took home the amateur title in a four-way playoff after shooting a 65 Sunday. Ramsbacher won the playoff with a birdie on Hole No. 1 to top Mike Mattson, Ryan Flink, and Jerry Pearsall.
Cameron Milton, head pro at Polson Bay, finished in a tie for second with Mike Grob after both finished 7 under.
Greg Vannatta finished 1 under par to claim the Senior title.
Defending champion Roger Wallace, PGA Director of Golf at Polson Bay, finished tied for seventh at 1 over.
Other local players included Tim Esquibel, who tied for first in the third flight and Josh Maki who won the fifth flight.
All four of Polson High School boys finished in the top six of their respective flights, including Hunter Emerson (first in First Flight), Carson Hupka (fourth in Second Flight), Christian Lund (tied for third in Fourth Flight) and Torrin Ellis (sixth in Sixth Flight).
The event raised more than $9,000 for the Polson Scholarship and Education Foundation this year through local sponsorships.
