Lady Bulldogs go 4-0 at Frenchtown
The Mission-Arlee-Charlo softball team earned a pair of wins each day during the two-day Frenchtown Invitational last weekend, including three wins by nine or more runs and a 10-7 win over Corvallis.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 12-1 on the season.
Hayleigh Smith went 9 for 12 from the plate for M-A-C over the weekend, including a home run a triple and two doubles. She drove in seven runs.
Jerny Crawford went 7 for 13 with a pair of triples, a homer and a double, while driving in six.
Pitcher Izzy Evans earned wins over Butte Central, Corvallis and Stevensville, while Payton Smith got the win against Hamilton. Evans also homered, hit three doubles and drove in six runs over the two days. M-A-C also got a home run form Bennan Andersen, who drove in four runs.
M-A-C played an afternoon game against Florence-Carlton on Tuesday afternoon at the University of Montana as the Leader was going to press. The game was a rematch of last year’s class A state title game, which Florence won 10-4.
