Big Arm potluck is Friday

The Big Arm Association will hold its first community potluck of the season Friday, May 27 at the historic Big Arm School. Bring your favorite dish to share with neighbors for dinner at 6 p.m. Lake County Weed Control Coordinator Tyler Linse will be the guest speaker. He will discuss weed management for our area. His presentation begins at 7 p.m. For more information, contact BAA Secretary-Nancy Foster at 406-849-5064.

Quilt guild meetings on tap

The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will gather at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 31 at the Terrace Lake Community Church in Ronan to finalize plans for a quilt show to be held June 11-12 in conjunction with the Chainsaw Carving Rendezvous. Come prepared to sign up for their favorite committee for the 2022-23 quilt guild year. The regular meeting of the Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will be held on Tuesday, June 28 at the LDS church in Ronan to finalize plans for the annual quilt show. This quilt show will be held July 29-30 at the K William Harvey gymnasium.

Free U.S. flags available

The Raven Hall Motorcycle club is offering free 3 feet by 5 feet American flags. Members will come out and install a hinged wall mount, pole and flag. Their goal is to do at least 100 every year. With every flag they put up, they donate $20 to the autistic housing project in Ronan. They are only in Lake County right now, but plan to expand soon. The club is a 501c3 nonprofit, and they do accept donations. To order a flag send an email to ravenhallflaginfo@gmail.com or call Nate at 406-407-3405 or Edward Lee (founder) at 406-314-9406. Email is preferred so they have a paper trail.

Whitefish Credit Union shred day

The Polson branch of Whitefish Credit Union is hosting a community shred event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 1 at 110 Third Ave. E. The event is free to the public, and membership with the credit union is not required.

“Protecting yourself against fraud means taking steps to dispose of sensitive documents securely,” said Jim Kenyon, CEO of Whitefish Credit Union. “We are happy to provide an opportunity for everyone in our community to safely throw out old documents to protect their private information.”

Library book sale coming up

The North Lake County Public Library is holding a used book and media sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 3-4 in the library’s large meeting room. There will also be a raffle for a beautiful Amish quilt.

RFD hamburger feed at Big Arm

The Polson Rural Fire Department is hosting its annual free hamburger feed from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at the Big Arm Fire Station. Meet local firefighters and see some of the new equipment and fire trucks. Donations will be accepted.

Health walks on Wednesdays

The Tribal Health Center’s Move Your Mocs with a Doc series takes place each Wednesday through June 22. Join Dr. Muzquiz and the Tribal Health team for a series of short walks. Meet at the SKC Health Center at noon Wednesdays. Dr. Muzquiz will spend about 10 minutes talking about various health topics, followed by a 20-minute walk on the path along the highway. All levels of walkers are welcome. Please dress for the weather, wear walking shoes, and bring a snack.
