Mission Bulldogs lead the pack

PABLO – Andrew Rush (16:05), Robbie Nuila (16:53), and Zoran LaFrombois (17:19) crossed the finish line 1-2-3 to lead the Mission Bulldogs cross country squad to a first-place victory with a boys’ team score of 48 points during the Mission Shadow Duels Invitational at the Silver Fox Golf Course in Pablo on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Meet-host Polson High School placed third with 68 team points in the boys’ team standings led by Colter Wilson who clocked a 17:44 for a fifth-place finish.

Saturday’s win marked the fifth time Rush has stood atop the podium this season.

Polson Lady Pirate Ashtyn Wagner crossed the finish line first in the girls race with a time of 20:27 followed by runner up Ronan Maiden Olivia Heiner with a time of 21:12.

In the girls’ team competition, Ronan was tops with 58 points followed by Polson in third place with 65 and Mission in fourth with 76.

Mission Valley top 15 finishers for the girls were Lady Bulldogs Ellanah Flatlip (21:46) in fourth, Lady Bulldog Cedar Hunt (22:53) in sixth, and Lady Pirate Isabel Seeley (23:29) in 10th place. Ronan Maiden Brogen Youngren (24:06) finished 12lfth followed by fellow runner Maiden Saellah Hugs (24:07) in 14th.

Rounding out the top 15 finishers for the Mission Valley boys were Bulldog Harlon Leishman (18:03) with an eighth-place finish and Pirate Noah Roberts (18:38) in 13th place.
