Prep Sports Roundup: Polson boys and girls’ soccer split season finale
Playing in their soccer season finale on Saturday, the Polson Pirates defeated the visiting Bigfork Vikings 3-1, while the Valkyries shut out the Lady Pirates 3-0.
Tate Barentsen, Pietro Durando and Robert Merchant each scored goals in the Pirates’ third win of the season.
Earlier in the week in Whitefish, the Pirates fell 2-0 to their Bulldogs host and the Lady Pirates were blanked 3-0 by the Lady Bulldogs.

The visiting Eureka Lady Lions shut out the hosting Mission Lady Bulldogs 3-0 on Thursday,
Izzy Evans led the Lady Bulldogs with five kills and nine digs. Also for Mission, Cassidy Orr
floored six aces and Rowan McElderry chipped in with two blocks.
On Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs battled the visiting Troy Lady Trojans to a 27-29, 25-13, 25-12, 25-16 four set victory.
Orr booked a team high 10 digs and eight aces, while Evans posted eight kills and a block. Gabby Smith led the Lady Bulldogs with 18 assists.
Charlo Lady Vikings 3, Superior Lady Bobcats 1
Charlo Lady Vikings 3, Hot Springs Lady Savage Heat 0
The Charlo Lady Vikings moved to a 14C District record of 9-0 last week with a 3-1 win over Superior and a 3-0 victory over Hot Springs.
On Thursday, the Lady Vikings defeated the visiting Superior Lady Bobcats 25-17, 18-25, 25-20, 25-22.
Hayleigh Smith had three aces and a game high 17 kills to lead the Lady Vikings.
Also for Charlo, Payton Smith had three kills and 31 assists, followed by Aida Cote with 14 kills and two digs. Lady Viking Leah Cahoon added eight kills and 15 digs.
In Hot Springs on Saturday, the Lady Vikings swept the Lady Savage Heat in straight sets 25-23, 25-24, 25-8. Payton Smith booked 21 assists and floored six aces.

Superior Bobcats 56, Charlo Vikings 32
Charlo Viking Tucker Love had three touchdowns which included a second quarter 65-yard kick-off return in Friday’s 56-32 road loss to the ninth-ranked Superior Bobcats.
Viking quarterback Hayden Hollow threw two touchdowns and rushed for another TD as the Vikings moved to an overall season record of 4-3.
Mission Bulldogs 58, Darby Tigers 14
The 6-0 Mission Bulldogs racked up a total 483 offensive yards during Friday night’s 58-14 road win over the Darby Tigers.
On the ground, the Bulldogs rushed for a team total of 314 yards and five touchdowns, while quarterback Kellen McClure went 8-of-15 for 169-yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.
Arlee Warriors 58, Troy Trojans 20
Playing on the road Friday evening, the Arlee Warriors moved to an overall record of 4-3 in a 58-20 victory over the Troy Trojans.
The Warriors’ defense held the Trojans’ offense to a total of 153-yards, while Arlee piled up 492 total yards on offense.
Warrior QB Kendall O’Neill was 10-of-14 on the day with 214-yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions.
