Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Lee

Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Lee passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at age 87. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Harold Lee. Liz was born on April 22, 1935, to parents Al Cutting and Helen Guest in Butte. She graduated from Butte High School in 1953.

Liz is survived by her son, John Harold Lee (Sally) of Ennis and her daughter, Ruth Ann Willson

of Wellington, Colo. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Justin (Amanda) Lee, Brian (Rachel) Lee, Brandi (Sean) Mergenthaler, Ashley Willson, and Joe (Katie) Willson, in addition to five great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Liz had many creative talents including stained glass art that many family members are blessed with owning. She loved to play any type of board game and especially loved playing cards. She was still playing bridge twice a week until COVID hit. Liz was also active in Eastern Star.

She spent many years as a secretary supporting the banking industry. After retirement, Liz became a substitute teacher for the Mission School District in St. Ignatius.

Liz loved to travel to connect with friends and loved ones across the nation and world. She also loved to camp and made many lasting memories with her family on the Madison River.

After retirement, Liz and John split their time between St. Ignatius and Casa Grande, Ariz., before finally moving to Arizona full time in 2015. Liz remained in Casa Grande until 2020 when she moved to Fort Collins, Colo., to be closer to her daughter.

There will be no public memorial service per her request. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Shriners Hospital.
