Bats, wizards and smart drivers at the library
The North Lake County Library celebrates bats this week with a presentation from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, by Stephanie Gillin; a wildlife biologist with the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes. Coloring pages and special displays also pay tribute to these spooky little mammals.
Also at the library:
AARP Smart Driver Course: 1-5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27. Pete Ridge helps participants get up to speed with the latest driving strategies, auto safety features, and new state and local traffic laws. This class is designed for drivers 50 and older, but all drivers are welcome. Registration is required; call 406-883-8225 to reserve a spot.
Halloween at the Library: Head to the library anytime during open hours of 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, to show off costumes and collect a treat. Also on Halloween, young readers are invited to dress up (or not) and read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Apprentice at 3:45 p.m. Games and discussion of the beloved classic are also on tap during the family-friendly event.
