Polson Senior Center: Get ready to fall back
Another time change is coming up on Nov. 6 so remember to “fall back” to “Montana” Standard Time at 2 a.m. or set your clocks back an hour on Saturday so you can stay up an hour later.
I wish we could have a time zone that is the same all year round. Some new time pieces on the market change the time for you. I still own a clock that runs on gravity and inertia. As the song goes: “The grandfather clock was too tall for the shelf so it stood 90 years on the floor.”
Vote Nov. 8 – that’s Democracy in action.
Activities coming up at the Polson Senior Center include: bowling for fun, 1 p.m. Tuesdays; bridge, 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays (beginners welcome); pinochle, 12:30-3 p.m. Thursdays; and bingo, 7 p.m. Fridays. The pool table is open, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays.
Seniors have an opportunity to Exercise for Mobility, 10:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The veteran’s representative visits the center from 10 a.m.-noon Oct. Nov. 4.
Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays and cost $5. The menu is posted each week at the center. This week’s main dishes include: Polish dogs, Oct. 27; birthday dinner with pot roast and fixings, Oct. 28; Halloween creepy lunch with Rueben rotten soup, beasty bread, green ghost salad and petrified pumpkin bars, Oct. 31; spaghetti, Nov. 1; and barbecue chicken legs, Nov. 2.
