Volleyball Roundup: Lady Vikings pick up home win
CHARLO – The Charlo Lady Vikings picked up a home victory over visiting conference opponent Two Eagle River Lady Eagles on Thursday evening.
Charlo won in straight sets against the Lady Eagles with the set scores being 25-0, 25-6 and 25-3.
“I’m happy with where we have started,” noted Charlo Lady Viking head coach Rhondell Volinkaty. “But we still have a lot of work to do to get to where we need to be by post season.”

Ronan 3, Corvallis 2
The Ronan Maidens split their back-to-back road games on Saturday, falling 3-0 to Hamilton in the early game, while picking up a 3-2 victory over Corvallis in the late game.
Leina Ulutoa led the Maidens with eight kills and 11 digs in the Hamilton match, while Kylie Fetui posted eight assists and Claire Crist floored two aces.
Against Corvallis, Lauryn Buhr had 9 kills, Fetui booked 16 digs and Ulutoa added 14 assists. Crist had three ace serves, while both Jase Frost and Ulutoa posted five blocks.
Arlee 3, Mission 0
Deer Lodge 3, Mission 1
The Mission Lady Bulldogs fell in three straight sets 25-15, 25-21, 25-23 to the hosting Arlee Scarlets on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
Gabby Smith paced the Lady Bulldogs with 12 assists, nine digs and four aces.
Also for the Lady Bulldogs, Izzy Evans led with seven kills and a block, while Cassidy Orr chipped in with 11 digs and four aces.
On Thursday, the visiting Deer Lodge Lady Wardens picked up a four set 25-17, 21-25, 25-20, 25-23 victory over the Lady Bulldogs.
Rowan McElderry posted a team high eight kills and two blocks. Smith booked a team high nine assists and 18 digs followed by Kariah Thomas and Emily Morigeau who floored three aces apiece.

On Thursday, the Polson Lady Pirates volleyball team were stung by the visiting Stevensville Lady Yellowjackets 25-21, 8-25,25-20, 25-23.
The Lady Pirates got 20 assists from Avery Star, 10 kills from Clara Todd, nine digs from Lucy Violett and Grace Simonich chipped in with three blocks.
Starr put up 35 set assists and 10 digs for the Lady Pirates, while teammate Todd Kelly powered her way to 15 kills, as Polson slipped past hosting Corvallis Lady Blue Devils in five sets 25-13, 21-25, 18-25, 25-19, 15-8 on Saturday.
Also for the Lady Pirates, Julia Barnard posted 22 digs and Hannah Simpson added 13 kills.
In Saturday’s late afternoon road game, the Lady Pirates were defeated by the Hamilton Lady Broncs in four sets 21-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-17.
Simonich booked 10 kills, Starr posted 25 assists and Barnard added 12 digs to lead Polson.
