Rush first at Flathead Invite
KALISPELL – Andrew Rush placed first overall to lead Class B Mission to a second-place team finish on Friday at the Flathead Invite hosted at Rebecca Farm in Kalispell.
Rush crossed the finish line with a time of 15:58.39 as the Bulldogs placed second at the 28-team meet with 93 points.
Rounding out the top 25 for the Bulldogs, Robbie Nuila was fifth in 16:34.05 minutes, Thomas Nuila finined 23rd, and Zoran LaFrombois placed 24th.
Class A Ronan Maiden Olivia Heiner cracked the top 25 with a 21st place finish with a time of 21:18.63 minutes.
In cross country action on Tuesday, Sept. 6, Polson Lady Pirate Ashtyn Wagner won the girls’ race at the clocking a time of 23:11.1 minutes at the Butte Central Invitational held on the Fairmont Hot Springs Golf Course.
Lady Pirate teammates Isabel Seeley (24:33.9) finished third, Adison Carlson (24:42.7) placed fourth and Katelyn Smith (26:16.5) nabbed a seventh-place finish.
The Polson Pirate boys were second as a team at 41 points. Drifter Skillicorn finished fourth with a posted time of 19:59.2 minutes, and running teammates Hayden Clairmont (12, 20:46.5), Noah Roberts (13, 20:46.6), Brandt Heninger (14, 20:52.6), Kai McDonald (15, 20:58.4), David Bjorge (18, 21:24.1) and David DiGiallonardo (20, 21:26.3) all finished in the top 25.
On Saturday, the Pirates and Lady Pirates competed in the Shadle Park High School hosted Highlander Invitational in Spokane. Race results are separated by grade level.
For the Lady Pirates, Wagner placed fifth in the senior bracket, while in the junior category Seeley placed eighth, Carlson finished ninth and Smith placed eleventh.
DiGiallonardo was the top finisher for the Pirates with a twelfth-place finish in the freshmen boy’s division.
