Mission finishes tenth at Mountain West Classic

MISSOULA – In a field of more than 400 runners, Mission Bulldog runner Andrew Rush continued his great start to his senior season, finishing seventh in the boys’ race during the Mountain West Classic hosted at the University of Montana Golf Course in Missoula on Saturday.

Rush’s time of 15:55.89 paced the Bulldogs’ cross-country squad to a tenth-place team finish in one of the region’s largest prep races that included more than 50 all classification teams from Idaho, Washington, and Montana.

Also for the Bulldogs, Robbie Nuila placed 26th with a time of 16:51.00 followed by Zoran LaFrombois (60th, 17:25.33) and Thomas Nuila (71th, 17:34.77).

The top runner for the Polson Lady Pirates this year has been senior Ashtyn Wagner, who finished 36th with a time of 20:26.34, while Colter Wilson (154th, 18:26.82) was the top finisher for the Polson Pirates.

Maiden Olivia Heiner (80th, 21:10.54) and Chief Koda King (267th, 19:33.66) were the top finishers for Ronan.

In Class B, Bailey Smith (303rd, 27:39.50) was the top runner for the Arlee Scarlets, while

Drew Knoll (394th, 22:59.49) led the Warriors.

For Class C Two Eagle River, Malacye Piapot (265th, 19:32.64) led the Eagles and Dayani Piapot (309th, 28:27.69) paced the Lady Eagles.
