Mission celebrates homecoming

ST. IGNATIUS – The Mission High School campus was buzzing with school spirit as the students, faculty and community members celebrated homecoming festivities last week.
Homecoming activities included a parade, pep assembly, skits, float construction, dress-up days, sporting events, and the crowning of the king and queen.
In girls’ volleyball action on Tuesday, the Lady Bulldogs fell in straight sets 25-20, 25-17, 25-16 to visiting Thompson Falls.
For the Lady Bulldogs, Gabby Smith had 14 assists and 13 digs, while Izzy Evans racked up nine kills and a block.
The annual homecoming football capped off a busy week on Friday night under the lights as the Bulldogs tore up the Victor Pirates 65-6.
Running back Canyon Sargent rushed for three touchdowns of 41-, 39-, and 58-yards and caught a pass for a TD to lead the Bulldogs.
During halftime, Bryce Umphrey and Kooper Page were crowned 2022 homecoming king and queen. The homecoming court consisted of freshmen class nominated Cedar Hunt and Andrew Rush. The sophomore class chose Kooper Page and Bryce Umphrey. The junior class selected Cassidy Orr and Canyon Sargent, and the senior class voted for Lanie Keast and Matt Waters.
