Polson Pirates, Lady Pirates tops at divisional golf

LIBBY – The Polson boys and girls’ golf teams were the big winners on Friday during the Western A Divisional hosted at Libby’s Cabinet View Golf Course.

The Pirates took the boy’s top spot with a team total of 298, while the Lady Pirates finished with a team score of 374, 40 strokes ahead second place Hamilton.

Carson Hupka carded a two-under 70 to claim the top boy’s score of the day.

Fellow Pirate golfers Christian Lund (74) placed third, while Espn Fisher and Torrin Ellis each shot a 77 finishing in a two-way tie for fifth.

On the girls’ leader board, Ashley Maki carded a second place 85 followed by Kylee Seifert (91) in third and Clare Konen who shot a fourth place 92.

The Ronan Maidens qualified for state as a team taking fourth place with Alyssa Pretty On Top leading the way booking a fifth place 97.

On Friday and Saturday, both the Polson and Ronan squads will look to win the Class A State golf trophy as they head south to Hamilton for the state class A tournament.
