The ship keeps sailing for the Pirates, whose power and pitching continue to topple teams in Western Montana.

The Pirates improved to 5-1 on the season, taking down Troy 20-0 in baseball action on Thursday, April 6. Pitchers Jarrett Wilson and Cody Haggard combined to pitch three innings, with Wilson striking out two and Haggard striking out five. They did not allow a hit.

Fast starts continue to be the Pirates' mission objective. Polson scored 19 runs in the first inning and another run in the top of the second. The team finished with ten hits, and Troy pitching hit eight Polson batters.

Dawson DuMont had a home run and drove in four runs, while Wilson had three hits, a triple, and drove in three. Holden Emerson had a double, drove in four runs, and finished with two hits and two walks. Haggard also drove in two runs.

In the last four games, Polson has given up just six hits total.

DuMont holds down Frenchtown

Dawson DuMont pitched five no-hit innings in Polson's 9-0 victory over Frenchtown in baseball action last Tuesday, April 4. The Shoreline Community College commit struck out eight and only walked two in the victory, while Pirate bats collected 13 hits against Bronco pitching.

Polson took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second and had three-run rallies in both the fourth and sixth inning. Frenchtown committed four errors along the way.

Jarrett Wilson led the Pirates at the plate by going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double. Holden Emerson had a triple and an RBI in the matchup, while DuMont helped his cause with a double and an RBI. Landon Shoemake also had a double in the matchup, while Aiden Gfoerer and Cymian Kauley had two hits apiece.

Espn Fisher came in pitching in relief and struck out two.
