Ronan and Mission get early season wins over Bigfork, Anaconda

In tennis action on Tuesday, April 4, the Ronan boys' tennis team won over visiting Anaconda, while the Ronan girls tied with Bigfork.

Beau Decker won his No. 1 matchup against Anaconda’s No. 1 Hurley 6-1, 6-1 for the Chiefs, and Ronan continued to win down the line. Remi Stalheim, Hayden Fussell, Tristian Buckellew and Robert Haggard won their single matchups. Anaconda won both doubles matchups, but the Chiefs triumphed 5-2.

Decker won against Bigfork, picking up a 6-0, 6-0 No. 1 singles win over the Vikings’ Livingston. Bigfork won the truncated matchup 3-1.

On the Ronan girls' side, Angie Paca picked up a 6-3, 3-6 (10/8) win over Bigfork’s Sisler in No. 1 girls' singles action. Sara McConnel won her No. 2 singles matchup for Ronan 6-4, 6-4, but the Maidens split the matchup 2-2.

The Mission Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs also took to the courts and picked up wins over Anaconda and Bigfork

The Mission boys earned a 2-1 win over Anaconda as the No. 1 doubles team of Jack Keast and Nic Frost won two doubles matchups against Anaconda. On the girls' side, Natalia Helser nabbed a singles win over Gee, while Mission’s doubles team of Emily Morigeau and Evelyn Ferencz won 6-0, 6-3 over Anaconda’s Law and Fullmer.

Against Bigfork, Mission’s Heath Laframbois and Morigeau picked up a doubles win over Bigfork’s Porrovecchio and Christians 4-6, 6-3, (10/8).
