Polson Baseball topples Plains/Hot Springs

Cymian Kauley pitched five innings of one-hit baseball while striking out six to help lead the Pirates to an 11-victory over Plains/Hot Springs on Thursday, April 13, in Plains. The win improved Polson’s record to 6-1 on the season.

Holden Emerson drove in two runs at the plate, while Dawson DuMont had a double and brought in a run.

Polson jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first and led 6-0 after two and a half innings of play. They shorted the game by scoring two runs in the fourth and notching a three-run rally in the top of the fifth. They finished with six hits, while Plains/Hot Springs committed six errors.

Jarrett Wilson, Espn Fisher, Landon Shoemake, Aiden Gfroerer, and Kauley also drove in runs in the contest, while Fisher stole three bases.

Since Kauley gave up no walks, Plains/Hot Springs had just one baserunner the entire game.

Polson has outscored opponents 64-2 so far this season.

Bulldogs Defeat Troy

Mission made the most of four hits, defeating Troy 14-2 in baseball action on Thursday, April 13, in Troy. The Bulldogs collected 11 walks and four batters hit by a pitch in the victory. Canyon Sargent appeared to do it all, getting a hit, driving in a run, and stealing a base in the win.

On the mound, Kellen McClure pitched four innings and gave up no runs and no hits while striking out nine. Mission led 7-0 after three innings and added five more runs in the top of the fourth and two more in the top of the fifth.

Troy got on board with three runs in the bottom of the fifth, but it wasn’t enough to extend the game. The Trojans finished with two hits to their name.

Chance Bockman swung the big stick for the Bulldogs getting two hits and driving in two runs. Sheldon McLeod drove in three runs, while Rhain Gonzalez and Brody Brown each drove in two runs.
