Local schools shines in Dilly Bar Invite

Ronan's Dilly Bar Invite on Saturday, April 15, brought in many local athletes to compete at the same meet. Ronan shined as the home team, placing second as a boys' team and third as a girls' team.

There were several individual champions from many Lake County schools as well.

Mission's Canyon Sargent won the 100-meter run with a personal best 11.79, while Charlo's Keaton Piedalue was second with a time of 11.96. Polson's Robert Merchant was third (12.02), while Ronan's Gabe Gagnon-Rusnac was fifth (12.10).

Sargent was also second in the shot put with a throw of 41-4.5.

Mission's Bryce Umphrey won the men's long jump with a mark of 20-7.

Gagnon-Rusnac was first in the 200-meter run (24.34) with a personal record, while teammate Connor Durglo was fourth (24.64). Charlo's Piedalue was second with a time of 24.3.

Polson's Drifter Skillicorn was first in the 400-meter run (53.77), while Charlo's Piedalue was second (54.24.). Mission's Isaac Umphrey was third, and Ronan's Josiah Misa was fourth.

Skillicorn would place second in the long jump (20-1), while Ronan's Connor Durglo was third (19-5), and Wade Qualtier was fourth (19-1.5)

Mission's Zoran LaFrombois was second in the 800-meter run (2:14) with a personal record, while Ronan's Tayen Edmo was third (2:14.07). Charlo's Hayden Smith was fourth, and Polson's Gus Hertz was fifth.

LaFrombois also placed second in the 1,600-meter run (4:48), Charlo's Smith was third (4:57) and Ronan's Tayen Edmo was fourth.

Ronan's Jacob Piapot placed fourth in the 3,200-meter run (11:45) with a personal best, while teammate Devon Big Medicine, a freshman, placed fifth (12:08) with a personal best.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Ronan's Blyth Bolman was fourth (18.68), and Charlo's Jacob Tomlin was fifth (19.35). Tomlin also placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 37-4.

Polson's Astin Brown won the discus with a personal best throw of 118-10.5 and was fifth in the shot put (37-3). Charlo's Ryan Sharbono was third in the discus 108-9.

Ronan's Gagnon-Rusnac was second in the 300-meter hurdles (45.15), while teammate Wade Qualtier was third (45.26). Bolman was fifth.

Ronan's 4x100 relay team placed first (45.90) with Qualtier, Gabe Gagnon-Rusnac, Connor Durglo, and Taigen Lindquist. Mission placed third with a time of 46.38, and Polson was fourth with a time of 46.58.

Ronan's 4x400 team placed second (3:40.35) with the running of Qualtier, Gagnon-Rusnac, Josiah Misa and Durglo. Charlo was third with a time of 3:47.10, and Polson was fifth.

Durglo placed second in the triple jump (41-4), while Qualtier was fourth (38-8).

Mission's Kellen McClure was third in the javelin (129-1), while Charlo's Jacob Tomlin was fourth (127-2). McClure also placed fifth in the long jump (19-0).

Charlo's Hayden Hollow was fourth in the pole (9-6).

GIRLS

Ronan's Olivia Heiner won the 1,600-meter run (5:54.68), and the 3,200-meter run (12:46.26) and placed second in the 800-meter run (2:33.86), while Polson's Ashtyn Wagner was fifth. (2:47.53). Wagner was second in the 3,200 (13:03.47), while fellow Lady Pirate Isabel Seeley was third (13:39.97), and Ronan's Maddie Duffey was fourth (14:24.31).

Charlo's Aida Cote was first in the 400-meter run (106.68), while Polson's Hannah Simpson was second (108.67), and fellow Lady Pirate Ashtyn Wagner was third (1:09.45). Mission's Brooklyn McClure placed fifth (1:12.41)

Ronan's Destiny Finley won the long jump (14-0), and teammate Ana Herrero-Garcia was fourth (13-5). Maiden Leina Ulutoa won the triple jump (34-5) with a personal best, while her teammate Sarah Templer was fifth (29-3)

Polson's Baylee Lemm was third in the 1,600-meter run, and Charlo's Elsie Detert was fourth (6:31.97). Polson's Michelle Dalle was fourth in the 100-meter run (14.23), while Charlo's Taylea Lund was fifth.

Mission's Ellanah Flat Lip was fourth in the 200-meter run (29.96), and Charlo's Taylea Lund was fifth (30.13).

Charlo's 4x100 relay team of Cote, Lund, Shaedon Kain, and Karly Alder placed second (55.66). Ronan's 4x400 relay team of Saellah Nomee, Heiner, Sarah Templer, and Leina Ulutoa placed second (4:39.35), while Polson was fourth and Charlo was fifth.

In the field events, Ronan's Kylie Fetui placed fifth in the shot put (29-5) and fifth in the javelin (100-4). Charlo's Cote was second in the discus (94-6), while Ronan's Angie Adams was fifth in the event (77-11).

Polson's Kellyn Nelson was second in the pole vault (8-6).

Charlo collects plenty of medals at Darby Florence Invitational

Charlo junior Hayden Smith won the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:20.25 for Lake County's sole champion at the Darby Florence Invite in Corvallis on April 12. Smith also placed sixth in the 1,600-meter run with a time 4:58.54.

There were plenty of other impressive performances from local athletes.

In the 800-meter run, Charlo had a bevy of finishers. Junior Hayden Hollow was second (2:13.54), while Tayre Brown was sixth (2:18.25), freshman Tasker Brown was ninth (2:23.55) for a personal record, and freshman Karson Cox was tenth with a time of 2:24.49.

Charlo senior Keaton Piedalue was sixth in the 100-meter run (12.07), while Arlee's Charley Crawford, also a senior, was 11th (12.20). Piedalue placed seventh in the 200-meter run (24.49).

In the 400-meter run, Charlo's Brown placed seventh (1:00.22) for a personal record. Cox, also a freshman, was 12th (1:01.16).

In the 4x400 meter relay, Charlo played fourth with a time of 3:49.69, thanks to the running of Tasker Brown, Tayre Brown, Hayden Hollow, and Keaton Peidalue. Arlee placed sixth in the 4x400 relay Charlo's 4x100 relay team of Jacob Tomlin, Tucker Love, Hollow, and Piedalue was ninth with a time of 48.23.

In the field events, Tomlin placed 11th in the shot put (35-11). Love was seventh in the javelin (129-10), while Tomlin was 13th (121-10). Hollow was sixth in the pole vault (9-0), while Love was seventh (8-0).

On the girls' side, In the 800-meter run, junior Aida Cote of Charlo was third with a time of 2:40.53. Cote was also eighth in the 1,600-meter run (6:16.20) for a personal record. Cote was fifth in the discus with a heave of 97-03.

Charlo's Shaedon Kain was seventh in the 400-meter run (1:12.80) for a personal record.

Arlee's Shyla Schlieker was 11th in the javelin with a throw of 76-04.
