Filing opens for municipal elections

Candidates for municipal elections in Lake County can file for office through June 19. The general election is Nov. 7.

Polson City Commission and Ronan City Council have openings for Wards 1, 2 and 3. St. Ignatius has two openings for at-large representatives. All are four-year terms, Jan. 1, 2024-Dec. 31, 2027.

All candidates campaigning for municipal offices must file a C-1-A form within five days of filing for office (available at politicalpractices.mt.gov/Home/Forms).

To qualify for city council, candidates must be a resident of the ward for at least 60 days preceding the election. The filing fee is $15.
