NBF Presents: Tess Gunty and Tommy Orange – 5 p.m. May 2 at the Johnny Arlee/Victor Charlo Performing Arts Theater in Pablo; the National Book Foundation brings National Book Award-honored authors Tess Gunty (The Rabbit Hutch) and Tommy Orange (There, There) to Salish Kootenai College in Pablo for a reading and discussion, moderated by Debra Magpie Earling, author and professor emeritus at the University of Montana. “Step by Step, We Remember” 5K Walk/Run – 5:30 p.m. May 6 at Salish Kootenai College; inaugural event is a collaboration of partners from across the Flathead Reservation, along with the Rising Hearts-Running for Justice Initiative, and is held in conjunction with the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People on May 5. Activities will kick off with an opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. and the walk/run starting at 10:30 a.m.

Open Mic and Jam – 7 p.m. Fridays at the Western Montana Musicians Co-op, Ronan; also on tap is a weekly Community Jam at 7 p.m. Saturdays. The cooperative is located in the Red Poppy Building, 1 Eisenhower St. SW in Ronan. Learn more at www.mtmusic.org.
