Correction: Fastest male swimmer

Martyn Webster, the Swiss swimmer who swam the length of Flathead Lake on July 19, sent us a few corrections to the article that appeared in the Aug. 3 issue of the Leader:

“My swim was not the fastest swim of Flathead lake. It was the second fastest, although it was the fastest male swim. According to Marathon Swimming Federation records the fastest swim and the honor of record holder belongs to Sarah Thomas from Colorado, in a time of 13 hours and 39 minutes.”

He said his finish time was 14 hours and 30 minutes (5 minutes under the time we listed of 14 hours, 35 minutes).

He added: “Great to swim Flathead and visit Montana though. Mark (Johnston) and the team did a great job promoting the swim and Montana. I look forward to coming back and doing more swims in Montana.”
