Much grain being moved in Montana
Increase in market prices for grain, especially since the recent upturn, has been bringing considerable wheat out of farm and elevator storage and has given the Montana farmer a profitable outlet for his product which has for a long time been more of a liability than an asset.
Greatly increased car loadings have resulted and local stocks of wheat have been dwindling. Even as early as the month of May, when wheat prices were but little more than half of what the commodity is now bringing, wheat began emerging from storage and was started for the mills and terminals.
A hard luck story
A farmer was in the city yesterday telling of his ups and downs in trying to get a living from the soil. He said that he and his wife raised about four hundred young turkeys this year and that after the coyotes had finished, the number had materially decreased. Most of the remaining birds were afflicted with the croup and about two hundred are in the hospital band with their heads in slings.

Council calls for Mayor’s resignation
Copies of City Council Resolution 327 were the best-selling items at City Hall yesterday. After the twelfth request for a look at the document, the exasperated City Clerk declared she was going to post a line of copies all along the outside wall of the building.
It proved to be unnecessary. By noon most of the town seemed to know that the Council had unanimously passed a strongly worded resolution condemning Mayor Randy Stark’s conduct in office and calling for his resignation.
Hot sun takes toll of stock car entries
Guy Stinger drove the best race of the day and held off Dee McKay to take the win in the Bomber Main event Sunday. The hot sun took its toll on tires and caused many cars to overheat.
Dave Evertz won the Heat and the Main event in the Hobby Stock class, losing the Trophy Dash to Chuck Ferree of Kalispell. The Hobbies were blessed with two out-of-town entries, giving their class a much needed boost in cars.
