Thanks to all responders
On the afternoon of July 30, 2023, the Communication Butte Fire took off due to the weather conditions with a red flag warning in place. The fire jumped the Flathead River. We notified the residents that live along Moiese Valley and began to evacuate. Our focus was a residence at the end of Wheatland Drive that was in the path of the fire. The team did great and we did not lose any structures and no one got hurt!
Your Charlo-Moiese Volunteer Fire Department was joined by Ronan Volunteer Fire, St. Ignatius Volunteer Fire, Dixon Volunteer Fire, as well as CSKT Division of Fire Helitak Crew, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Tribal Law Enforcement and CSKT game wardens. We worked together and handled the battle in front of us.
Thanks to all responders!
Thanks to the community members who brought down a meal and to those who have donated items in the past week to us.
