It was a welcome relief last week when we had rain and the temperatures cooled down.

AARP offers a driving course in October. Watch for the date.

A big thanks to all who came and played Bingo on Aug. 9. The lucky Blackout winner received

$100. We will be playing Bingo again on Sept. 9 at 2 p.m.

The St. Ignatius Senior Center is looking to hire a site manager. They will work with the kitchen staff to plan meals, do the computer work, visit with meal participants and help the center with other projects. The job takes two or three days a week for six to eight hour a day. Call 406-745-4462 for more information.

The center is also looking for an assistant cook; please call if you’re interested.

Thank you to all who have given fresh fruits and vegetables to the senior center and food pantry. We appreciate the summer meals that include fresh items, and welcome more if you have extra.

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a meal at the center at noon Fridays and Tuesdays and 5:30 p.m. select Wednesdays. Menus are available via email, mail, or at the center. If you are interested in a take-out meal, please call 406-745-4462 by 10 a.m. and leave a message.

Main dishes include: BBQ pulled pork, noon Sept. 1; fish tacos, noon Sept. 5; lasagna, 5:30 p.m. Sept. 6; and chicken stuffing casserole, noon Sept. 8.

We invite people of all ages to become a member of the Senior Citizen Center for a fee of $10 a year.

Gentle Yoga meets at 1 p.m. Wednesdays (call 406-253-0177); and Foot Hill Club gathers at 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays for snacks and cards.

The center has a computer available for public use from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays; and several personal-care items are available to share. The facility is also available to rent.

If you need help with transportation, respite and home health services, or other information, call the friendly people at Lake County Council on Aging in Ronan at 406-676-2367.
