Donna Weaver, 74

| December 7, 2023 12:00 AM

Donna Marie Bramsen Weaver of Polson was born Dec. 30, 1948, to Arne and Marie in Missoula. She joined her sister, Carol, who was a year older.

Our beloved wife, mom, grandma passed away Dec. 1, 2023, at 74 years old at her home in Polson after a brief battle with lung cancer. Donna was known for her beautiful smile, selfless heart, welcoming home, classy style and mischievous sense of humor.

Donna attended grade school in Missoula before moving to Polson the summer before her eighth-grade year. Her high school years were filled with fun and laughs and so many lifelong friends: Duskie, Needie, Sharon, Judy, Shorty and Elaine.

Donna graduated from Polson High School in 1967. Donna was always surrounded by friends! This would be the mapping of her life; good friends always by her side and new friends along her life journey, including Linda, Peggy, Dixie, Reene, Eileen, Nikki, Pat, Janet and countless others.

To say Donna loved well and was loved is an understatement! She is the hub of the friendship wheel, the center of the activity, the planner, organizer and tracker. Always planning events –from family and class reunions, to lunches, shopping trips, ladies’ vacations, to seeing the world and marveling at the destinations!

Donna graduated from Kinman Business School in Spokane. This led to working in Minnesota for a short time before returning to Polson.

Donna met Bill Schultz and they were married in July 1968, and had two perfect children, Lisa and Jon. Their marriage was filled with fun and memories. Although there was history, there was also drifting apart, and they divorced in 1985. To this day, they have remained good friends and, along with their spouses, have celebrated milestones and holidays with their kids and grandkids.

Donna and Lynn were friends for years and it didn’t take long to fall in love. They were married June 8, 1996. Their home in Rollins was the center of family memories where there was always fun and laughter with lifelong memories for everyone.

Their life path led them to Arizona and Donna’s love for the sun enticed them to winter in a home purchased in Gold Canyon over 15 years ago. This was one of Donna’s happy places, along with anywhere she was with her family or friends.

There were two important milestones this past summer that Donna was able to get her family together: Lynn’s 80th Birthday Party at the cabin on the mountain and Danielle and Andy’s wedding on the lake, both in their beloved Rollins. This was an opportunity to get a large amount of family and friends together that she truly enjoyed before the last days of her life.

Donna and Lynn have blended four children in this marriage: Lisa (Dan), Jon (Kelly), Tina (Kelly), and Bobby (Melissa). Together they have 10 very special grandchildren that are the light of their life: Josiah and Danielle (Andy); Sam, Trevor and Justin; Dan and Niklas; and Keevan, Kyle, Kristian and Derik.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents (1977 and 2016), her sister in 1988, and her lifelong bestie, Duskie, this past October. She was hesitant to leave her family here, but excited to see those who had gone before her! Our faith helps us to have peace that we will also be seeing her again in the beautiful place God has prepared for us.

Please join the family for a celebration of life for Donna at The Barn on Finley Point on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Polson Animal Shelter.
