Scarlets open season with win over Noxon, loss to Plains

A quick start by the Scarlets led to a 31-20 victory over Noxon at the Hamilton Tip-Off Tournament on Friday, Dec. 1, and a loss to Plains on Saturday.

Arlee jumped out to a 15-4 lead in Friday’s first quarter and went into halftime with a 20-9 advantage. Leah Mesteth led the Scarlets with 11 points, while JJ Haynes and ShyAnne Manzanares each had eight points.

A day later, Porter Pier scored 19 points, but Arlee still fell to Plains 42-27. The Scarlets trailed 25-8 at halftime but edged up to 32-17 in the third quarter.
