Arlee wrestling sent one to state last year and almost had two others making it to Billings. With 15 boys and seven girls turning out for this year's squad, it's an exciting time for the Warriors' and Scarlet's' wrestling squads.

Brodie Smith returns after his state campaign last year, and there are other names to keep an eye out for.

"I do have quite a few that are capable," Arlee Head Coach Paige Carney said. "There are a few girls that will do some good. It's the first time we have had a girls’ team for some time, and it's a really good sign to see so many girls coming out."

Arlee also has seven juniors returning to the squad as well, adding to the team’s depth in the Western B Division.

"The division is looking tough,” Carney said. “I noticed during our first-weekend tournament numbers are up on a lot of teams."

Carney said that teamwork will be the strength of the Arlee wrestling team this year.

"They really want to do well, and they're going to push each other to make themselves better," he added. "We're just very excited for what could be."
