Christmas dinner and concert to benefit Warming Center

The Department of Human Resources-Families First Project for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes is hosting a Christmas Benefit Dinner and Concert, titled “Help for the Homeless,” 3:30-7 p.m. Dec. 20 at KwaTaqNuk Resort in Polson.
DJ Foreshadow (Native American Music Award winner Shadow Devereaux) will provide holiday music to set the Christmas mood at the third annual event. Other performers include The Wildflowers, Cornerstone Worship Band, Pastor Melanie Martin-Dent (flute music), Neal Lewing of the Montana ShamRockers, and event organizer Patrick Matt on acoustic guitar. Rushing Wind, a Native American gospel band, will lead the crowd in the “The Twelve Days of Christmas” and other holiday songs, and JR Parot and son Ryder will exhibit a Native American Hoopdance.
The event includes a family photo booth for free holiday pictures with photographer Tash Williams, a craft- and face-painting station for children, and gift raffles throughout the afternoon and evening.
The free buffet-style dinner includes brisket and ribs, with donations accepted at the door and seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Benefits go to the residents at the Warming Center, a shelter located in Pablo and managed and sponsored by CSKT.
