Lady Pirates bounce back with win over Corvallis
A day makes a big difference, as Polson edged out Corvallis 40-37 on the second day of the Frenchtown Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday, Dec.9. Julia Barnard and Rylee Taylor-Jefferson each added seven points to the Lady Pirates efforts, while Sam Rensvold and Natalie Adams contributed six.
Polson led 14-9 after one quarter and 22-17 at the half. Corvallis’s efforts to come back in the second half ultimately came up short despite outscoring the Lady Pirates by two points in the fourth quarter.
Taylor-Jefferson led Polson with seven rebounds, while Rensvold added five rebounds.

Polson Girls open season with loss
The Lady Pirates had a slow start in their Frenchtown Tip-Off Tournament battle against Loyola on Friday, Dec. 9. Loyola outscored Polson 23-0 en route to a 54-20 victory in the season opener for the Lady Pirates.
Polson was led by Sam Rensvold’s nine points and seven rebounds, while Hinkley Moss had six points.
Loyola led 37-5 at the break, and both teams played essentially even after halftime.
Rylee Taylor-Jefferson added five rebounds to the Lady Pirates’ efforts, and Mckenna Hanson notched four rebounds. Polson was 2-for-18 from the three-point line.
