At the Kalispell High School Invite, the Pirates won in the relays and individual events on Saturday, Dec. 9.
Gus Hertz won the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.14) and placed second (1:57.39) in the 200-yard freestyle. The boys also won the 400-yard freestyle, as Hertz, Sawyer, Sloan and McElwee combined for a time of 3:34.80.
Also in the boys' 200-yard freestyle, Polson’s Truman Sawyer was fifth (2:03.06). In the boys' 200-yard intermediate, Polson’s Teague McElwee was second (2:09.71), while fellow Pirate Lachlan Sloan was fifth (2:26.53).
Sawyer placed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.74, while McElwee was third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:31.10).
