Polson drops road contest against Butte Central

Polson traveled played their second straight road game, dropping a nonconference contest against Butte Central 74-43 on Saturday, December 16.

Jesse Vail led the Pirates with 14 points, while Cason Grahm had 11. Polson is currently averaging 43 points per game early in the season.

Brock Henriksen added six points to the Pirates efforts, and Polson fell to 0-4 on the season.

Chiefs clock win over Stevi

Ronan started quickly and clocked in a 74-35 non-conference victory over Stevensville on the road Thursday, Dec. 14. Marlo Tonasket went off for 18 points, and five Chiefs scored in double digits.

After carving out a 20-12 lead in the first quarter, Ronan posted an 18-7 run in the second quarter for the 38-19 halftime lead. The Chiefs didn’t stop those runs, outsourcing Stevensville 17-7 in the third quarter and increasing their advantage by 10 points in the fourth quarter.

Ronan’s Ted Coffman added 14 points, while Rayden Edmo added 11. Both Jean Small and Josiah Misa each scored 10.

Ronan improved to 2-2 on the year with the victory.

Bigfork plays powerful offense against Polson 

Bigfork’s offense powered up on Tuesday, Dec. 12, scoring more than 20 points in three of its four quarters against Polson in an 81-49 Northwestern A Conference victory. Anthony Lichtenberg’s 14 points led the Pirates, but Polson couldn’t keep pace with the Vikings.

After jumping out to a 22-13 lead in the first quarter, Bigfork’s offense trailed off, and Polson was able to cut into the Vikings’ lead by four points. Polson trailed 34-29 at halftime, and it looked like a classic conference dogfight.

Bigfork then went on a 25-11 run in the third quarter and finished off the game on a 22-9 run in the fourth quarter for the victory.

Cason Graham added 12 points to Polson’s efforts, while Jesse Vail added seven.
