Girls Class B Basketball: Lady Bulldogs take down Deer Lodge

Mission got about .500 with a 66-35 non-league victory over Deer Lodge on Saturday, Dec. 16. A fast start by the Lady Bulldogs and some stout defense in the middle quarters allowed Mission to cruise to victory.

Kieran Incashola led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points, while Ellanah Flatlip and Cora Matt had 11 points.

Mission led 22-12 after one quarter and went on a 15-4 run in the second quarter for the 37-16 halftime lead. Then, after the break, the Lady Bulldogs posted an 18-8 run to put the game out of reach.

Izzy Evans added nine points to Mission’s efforts, and the Lady Bulldogs improved to 3-2 on the season.

Arlee downs Valley Christian

In a game of runs, Arlee came out on top over their nonleague foe Valley Christian 50-42 on Saturday, Dec. 16, at home.

After the first quarter had both teams tied 15-15, Arlee went on a 16-5 run in the second for the 31-20 halftime lead. Valley Christian responded in the third quarter with an 11-4 run to make it 35-31 going into the fourth quarter. Arlee, however, was able to pull away in the final stanza.

Porter Pier led the Scarlets with 17 points, while Leah Mesteth added 13 and Adalyn Jacobson notched 10.

Mission defeats Arlee

Mission’s defense clamped down and picked up a 59-23 Lake County rivalry victory over Arlee on Friday, Dec. 15. Kieran Incashola led all scorers with 17 points, while Kason Page added another 16 points for the Lady Bulldogs.

The first quarter saw Mission take an 18-8 lead and then go on an 11-4 run in the second quarter for the 29-12 halftime lead. In the third quarter, the Lady Bulldogs posted an 11-3 run for total control.

Leah Mesteth led the Scarlets with nine points, while Porter Pier added six.
