Polson Seniors: Hoping Santa has a short memory
The Polson Senior Center will be closed Mondays, Dec.25 and Jan. 1. Happy Christmas to all!
My memory seems to get shorter by the day. I’m hoping Santa Claus has a short memory too. I tried to be nice, mostly, if that counts. I guess I’ll just wait and see.
Need a place to warm up for a few minutes? Come on in and stay as long as you want.
Space is available for playing board games or cards. A communal jigsaw puzzle is always going, and we have a small library.
Senior bowling is available at 1 p.m. Tuesdays ($13 lane fee); open group with no weekly commitment.
Activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; pinochle, noon-3 p.m. Thursdays (late arrivals welcome); bingo, 7 p.m. Fridays ($100 blackout), with playing card bingo on the first and third Wednesdays. The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays. Inquire at the center about bridge.
A veteran’s representative will visit the center Friday, Jan. 5, and Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 10 a.m.-noon.
Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays; a suggested donation of $5 helps support the nutrition program. The menu is posted each week at the center, although it’s subject to change. Call before 10 a.m. for Grab-n-Go.
Upcoming main dishes include: chili dogs, Dec. 21; Birthday Dinner for lunch featuring ham and scalloped potatoes, Dec. 22; hot turkey sandwiches, Dec. 26; sot shell tacos, Dec. 27; chop suey, Dec. 28; and potluck soup, Dec. 29.
We are running low on the green grocery bags from Super 1 Foods. We double bag them, and they are large enough to handle the canned and boxed commodity food for those in need. Save a bagful of bags and bring them in.
The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at 504 3rd Ave. E. For more information, call 406-883-4735, email polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com or visit us on Facebook.
