Arraignment Dec. 28 for alleged Bigfork shooter
The arraignment hearing for a Bigfork man, accused of shooting three people, killing one of them, was continued in Polson District Court Dec. 21. Matthew Vitek, 49, is charged with deliberate homicide in the Dec. 10 shooting death of 56-year-old Tammi Jordan in Ferndale.
He allegedly shot and injured two others, a man and woman. They were identified in charging documents only by their initials: J. K., who suffered a gunshot wound to his chest, and H. K., who was also shot in the chest.
Vitek was arrested at the scene of the shooting on Cayuse Lane in Ferndale. The three shooting victims were transported to Logan Health in Kalispell, where Jordan was pronounced dead.
Lake County prosecutor Lori Adams indicated in the charging documents that the state will not seek the Death Penalty. Vitek is being held on $3,000,000 bond.
Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher set the arraignment for Dec. 28.
