Ronan falls to Butte Central

Butte Central went on a 19-7 run in the fourth quarter to secure a 56-43 non-conference victory over host Ronan on Tuesday, Dec. 19. Jean Small led the Chiefs with 13 points, while Marlo Tonasket had 11.

Ronan led 12-9 after one quarter, and the game was knotted at 22-22 at halftime. Butte Central would take a one-point lead in the third quarter and then was able to pull away in the final stanza.

Josiah Misa added nine points to the Chiefs’ efforts.

Ronan did bounce back on Thursday, Dec. 21, taking out non-conference foe Corvallis 53-50 to improve to 3-3 on the year.

Polson drubs Stevensville

Polson scored early and often in its 65-24 takedown of Stevensville on Tuesday, Dec. 19, in non-conference basketball action. Three different Pirates scored in double digits, and 11 Polson players put points on the board.

Polson led 26-5 after one quarter, then went on an 18-4 run in the second quarter. Leading 44-9 at halftime, the Pirates opened up the second half with a 12-5 run.

Cason Graham scored 13 for Polson, while Anthony Lichtenberg and Brenden Griffen each added 11 points.

It was Polson’s first win of the season.

Polson falls to Dillon

Polson dropped a non-conference contest against Dillon, 65-19, on the road on Thursday, Dec. 21. Cason Graham led the Pirates with seven points.

Dillon led 52-9 at halftime.
