Class A Girls: Polson, Ronan notch wins

Lady Pirates thump Stevensville

On Tuesday, Dec. 19, Polson picked up its third win of the season, downing non-conference foe Stevensville 47-32. Aleysia Black led the Lady Pirates with 14 points, and Polson’s defense held Stevensville to just nine points.

Polson started the game on a 14-2 run, pushing their advantage by another five points. The second half was even, as Stevensville couldn’t close the gap against the Lady Pirates.

Natalie Adams and Samantha Rensvold each had eight points, while McKenna Hanson added six.

On Friday, Dec. 21, Polson fell to non-conference foe Dillon 76-19 dropping to 3-4 on the season.

Ronan gets past Billings Central

Ronan outscored Billings Central by four points in the fourth quarter to hold on for a 45-39 non-conference victory Tuesday, Dec. 19.

Zailee Hewankorn had 13 points for the Maidens, while Arianna Zepeda added nine.

Ronan led 9-4 after the first quarter but trailed 18-15 at halftime. The Maidens took the lead in the third and was able to fend off any Billings Central surges in the fourth.

Lauryn Buhr also added eight points to the Maidens' efforts.

On Thursday, Dec. 21, Ronan defeated non-conference foe Corvallis 53-37 to improve to 3-3 on the season.
