Polson Senior Center hosts AARP driver course

The AARP Safe Driver Course will be offered 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 19 at the center. Pre-registration is highly recommended. The fee is $25 with a discount available for senior center members. No tests need to be taken upon completion, and participants can often save money on car insurance while gaining new information on driving skills and safety.

The Polson Senior Center continues to develop a Facebook page and an active email list for our members and the community at large. Sign up at the center or email info to polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com. Guest wi-fi will be available soon.

Activities coming up at the center are open to all, and include: bowling for fun, 1 p.m. Tuesdays; bridge, 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays (beginners welcome); low-impact exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; pinochle, 12:30-3 p.m. Thursdays; bingo, 7 p.m. Fridays, with playing card bingo on the first Wednesdays and third Thursdays. The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays.

A veteran’s representative will visit the center from 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Jan. 17, and Friday, Feb. 3.

Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. weekdays and cost $5. The menu is posted each week at the center.

Main dishes include: BBQ pork sandwich, Jan. 12; oven ham and cheese omelet, Jan. 13; corn chowder and cheesy bread, Jan. 16; beef tips on pasts, Jan. 17; hot turkey sandwich, Jan. 18; fish with mac ‘n cheese, Jan. 19; and shepherd’s pie, Jan. 20.
