Polson library relocates to Methodist Church during renovation

| January 26, 2023 12:00 AM

The North Lake County Library is moving to a temporary new home at the Methodist Church in Polson during its upcoming renovation.

According to a recent press release, library services will relocate to 301 16th Ave. E. by Monday, March 6, and be open regular hours Monday-Saturday. Church services will continue on Sundays.

In the interim, patrons are encouraged to help clear the library building by checking out books from the 28-day collection to decrease the number of volumes that need to be moved to the new location or placed in storage. These items, and any other renewals, will have an extended due date of Oct. 2, 2023.

“We hope that you will check out as many of these books as you care to read and hang onto them until our renovation is complete in the fall,” writes assistant director Mallory Witham. “This is a great time to read an entire series, or new or favorite author, or really delve into your favorite genre.”

She notes that loans from partner libraries will not be subject to the same extended due date.

Patrons are invited to prepare for the big changes with “Get Ready for Library Renovations,” at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26.
