Mission Mountain Golf Club has busy season ahead
Situated near Ronan, the Mission Mountain Golf Club showcases the area with sweeping views of the valley.
Opened in 1988, Mission Mountain's longest tees measure in at 6,585 yards, and the course has a par of 72.
"The course here at Mission Mountain in Ronan has seen a lot of positive changes in the last five years, with the addition of a new irrigation pump, several pieces of equipment, and countless hours of volunteer work by a very gracious community," Mission Mountain Golf Club Pro Shawn Wilson said. "That, combined with a very experienced and dedicated staff, has the course looking the best it has in many years."
Wilson said Mother Nature had blessed the course with plenty of moisture, meaning the course is green, accented by breathtaking views of the Mission Mountains.
MMGC has its sixth annual Bulldog Scramble scheduled for July 15 at 10 a.m. to help support Mission High School Athletics. Next up, people can meet the Montana State coaching staff for the golf course's Bobcat Scramble on July 29, with proceeds going to support the Bobcat Club Scholarship Fun.
On Aug. 4, the course will host a three-person Pioneer Days Golf Scramble, in tandem with Ronan’s annual community celebration, and on Aug. 19, Valley Bank will host a four-person scramble to benefit local high school scholarships.
MMGC also has a twilight special for the course after 5 p.m. when it charges $45 for 18 holes of golf with a cart. The golf course will remain open as long as the weather allows, usually closing around mid-October when the Montana fall and winter start to get serious.
The Cantina Grill and Supper Club, located in the clubhouse, is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
"Although we are filling up fast for summer gatherings, we are taking reservations for fall and winter events,” Wilson said.
Wilson added that while men's and women's leagues have formed for the summer, they can always use subs. The women's league plays on Tuesday night, and the men play on Wednesday night. Wilson said to call the pro shop to add your name to the list.
