Hwy. 93 project moves ahead with Spring Creek Rd. closure

| July 13, 2023 12:00 AM

Riverside Contracting began breaking up the roadway at Spring Creek Road and U.S. 93 north of Ronan and permanently closed the road Tuesday.

Meanwhile, paving operations on the northbound lanes of Hwy. 93 in Ronan continue this week. Concrete crews will also be installing curbs and sidewalks in the area around Dairy Queen and the southbound couplet – the short, 600-foot two-lane segment connecting First Ave. to U.S. 93.

Workers are also installing underground electrical conduit for the new streetlights and traffic signal at the Old U.S. 93 and Third Ave. intersection. North of that intersection, crews continue building the new road’s sub-base, and milling operations are underway south of Baptiste Road. Drivers should anticipate traveling on a gravel surface through this section of the project area.

Crews are on site Monday through Friday, from 5 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Round Butte Road project

The Department of Transportation has completed the Round Butte Road resurfacing project, which began at the intersection of the major east-west thoroughfare and Ag Services Lane and extended west for four miles, ending just past Guenzler Lane. Improvements included resurfacing the roadway, chip and fog sealing the surface, new pavement markings, and installing rumble strips.
