The Strawberry full moon is June 5 in Texas. Here, it’s mid-July, maybe.

Country Pasta of Polson is continuing their long-time support for our food program with fresh noodles that enhance our pasta recipes. Thanks to all our local business who provide goods and services in support of our mission to deliver nutritious low-cost meals to our senior citizens in need. Shop local.

Additional full or part-time staff for our food service is needed. Stop by for an application.

We are seeking additional members for our board of directors. Only one short meeting each month, usually in the a.m. of the second Friday; terms of office vary according to leadership position. Volunteer to serve the seniors in the Polson area.

Activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: low-impact exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; pinochle, noon-3 p.m. Thursdays (free cookies, coffee and fun); bingo, 7 p.m. Fridays ($100 payout on blackouts), with playing card bingo on the first and third Wednesdays. The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays. Mahjong players gather at noon Wednesdays (more game sets are needed).

A veteran’s representative will visit the center from 10 a.m.-noon Friday, June 2, and Tuesday, June 18.

Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. weekdays and cost $5. The menu is posted each week at the center on online; call before 10 a.m. for deliveries.

Upcoming main dishes include salmon loaf, June 1; chicken bake, June 2; Rueben soup, June 5; spaghetti, June 6; turkey wrap, June 7; meatballs with sweet/sour sauce, June 8; and eggs-Benedict casserole, June 9.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at 504 3rd Ave. E. For more information, call 406-883-4735 or email polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com.
