Work begins on 17th Ave. project

A road construction project that affects traffic flow along 17th Ave. from 1st St. East to 2nd St. West, begins Monday, June 12. The project will impact traffic flow to the Polson Boys and Girls Club since 17th Ave. will be closed during construction.

According to a press release from interim Polson Police Chief George Simpson, the project aims to ensure a safe walking path for students as well as improve overall driving conditions.

The project includes the construction of a curb, gutter and sidewalk, pavement reconstruction, stormwater improvements, signage, and pavement markings.

Traffic will be routed through the adjacent neighborhood, The Rolfson Addition, with A and B Avenues transitioning from one-way-only streets to two-way thoroughfares during construction.
