Elijah Tonasket signs with Rocky Mountain College
Rocky Mountain College's mens' basketball program recently added Ronan's Elijah Tonasket to their roster, meaning Mission Valley hoops fans can continue to watch the talented six-foot guard play at the next level.
Tonasket averaged 12.6 points, five rebounds, and four assists per game during his senior season, showcasing his versatility on the court. With an impressive shooting accuracy of 48 percent from the field and 36 percent from beyond the arc, Tonasket proved to be a force to be reckoned with.
Tonasket has been a two-time All-Conference honorable mention and two-time Offensive MVP. His talent and dedication also secured him a spot in the All-Divisional Tournament team.
Rocky Mountain College Coach Mike Dreikosen expressed his enthusiasm about having Tonasket join the program.
"Elijah is the type of kid we love having in our program. He is a smart point guard with great athleticism,” he said. “He is also an excellent student and a tremendous person. We are ecstatic to have him joining our program."
In explaining his decision to join the Billings team, Tonasket emphasized the program's success and potential to help him reach new heights in his basketball career. He also highlighted the college's outstanding health and human performance program, aligning with his academic goals and interests.
Under the guidance of Coach Dreikosen, Tonasket will further refine his skills and contribute to the Battlin' Bears' pursuit of victory on the court. With Tonasket's signing, Rocky Mountain College bolsters its already strong recruiting class of 2023.
The team's incoming class comprises ten talented freshmen and one junior college transfer. Six of these recruits hail from Montana, while the rest come from various states such as Colorado, Utah, Florida, and even as far as New Zealand.
Rocky Mountain College was 15-14 last year, winning one game in the Frontier Conference tournament during the postseason.
