First Saturday – 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. July 1 at Ninepipes Museum south of Ronan; Salish silversmith Joshua Marceau demonstrates jewelry-making, and artists Persephone Sandoval and Shari Montana show their artwork. Arlee Celebration – June 28-July 4 at the Powwow Grounds in Arlee; Native people gather – as they have for more than 120 years – to celebrate culture and tradition. The powwow includes a memorial at 7 p.m. Thursday, grand entries at 7 p.m. Friday and 1 and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Social Day on July 3, and the Snake Dance on July 4. Fourth Festivities – Polson: Fireworks at dusk July 3 from Riverside Park; parade at noon July 4. Charlo: Fireworks at 10 p.m. July 3; parade at 12:30 p.m. July 4. This year’s theme is “Salute to the Soldiers.”

Farmers’ Markets – Ronan: 3:30-6:30 p.m. Thursdays, through Oct. 12 at the Ronan Visitor’s Center (www.facebook.com/RonanFarmersMarket/); Polson: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Fridays through mid-October on 3rd Ave. W. (polsonfarmersmarket.com). Support local famers and crafters at these weekly markets.
