Filing deadline next Thursday for school trustee elections
The filing deadline for school board candidates is 4 p.m. next Thursday, March 23. As of Monday, no candidates had filed yet for three three-year seats on the Charlo School Board, currently held by LaDonna Fryberger, Daniel Cahoon and Graydon Cross.
In Arlee, one candidate, incumbent Jason Stockdale, has filed for two three-year terms.
Other openings and candidate filings include:
Polson: Incumbents Chanel Lake and Joanna Browning have filed for two openings.
Ronan: Three openings are available for three-year terms; as of Monday, incumbents Bob Cornwell and Jesse Lytton have filed, along with Levi Read who is running for the seat currently held by Rich Janssen Jr.
St. Ignatius: Incumbents Peter Matt and Mary Leishman have filed for two three-year terms.
Valley View: Two candidates have filed to represent the rural elementary district: Amanda Jackson (two-year term) and Kyla Jaeger (three-year term).
Swan Lake/Salmon Prairie: Kvande Anderson has filed for a three-year term.
Declaration of Intent and Oath of Candidacy forms are available online at www.lakemt.gov/175/Filing-Information, at school district offices or from the Lake County Election Office in Polson.
Ballots will be mailed April 12-17 and must be returned to the Lake County Election Office by Tuesday, May 2.
