First Saturday – 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. May 6 at Ninepipes Museum; enjoy live music with Richard Tobel, frybread, and displays by artisans Lori Parr and Tracy Tevis. “Step by Step, We Remember” 5K Walk/Run – 5:30 p.m. May 6 at Salish Kootenai College; inaugural event is a collaboration of partners from across the Flathead Reservation, along with the Rising Hearts-Running for Justice Initiative, and is held in conjunction with the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People on May 5. Activities will kick off with an opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. and the walk/run starting at 10:30 a.m.

River Honoring Community Event – 6 p.m. May 8 at the River Honoring site along the Flathead River; the evening starts with an introduction, followed by a salute to the 2023 honorees, an honor song, and dinner. On Tuesday and Wednesday, approximately 500 fourth and fifth graders visit daily – mostly from Reservation schools – and learn about tribal culture, history and traditions.

Open Mic and Jam – 7 p.m. Fridays at the Western Montana Musicians Co-op, Ronan; also on tap is a weekly Community Jam at 7 p.m. Saturdays. The cooperative is located in the Red Poppy Building, 1 Eisenhower St. SW in Ronan. Learn more at www.mtmusic.org.

Women 4 Wellness – 10 a.m.-3 p.m. May 18 at the SKC Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center in Pablo; annual event offers a wealth of information and free health screenings for women (men are welcome too). Call 406-275-4913.
