Polson prevails again; Bulldogs drop two

Polson powers past Whitefish at home

The Pirates jumped on Whitefish for three runs in the first inning then had to come from behind in the fourth after trailing 5-4. Polson pounded out 13 hits but had five errors in the contest.

Dawson DuMont had two home runs and a double to total 10 bases for the game. He drove in six runs in the contest.

Espn Fisher also had three hits including a triple for the Pirates. Landon Shoumake and Cymian Kauley paced the Pirates on the mound.

J. Polumbus had a home run for the Bulldogs, and J. McIntyre was the losing pitcher for Whitefish.

Polson is now 11-2 overall and 5-0 in conference action.

Bulldogs drop two games

The Mission Bulldogs dropped two games last week, losing to Florence-Carlton Wednesday, 19-4, and to the Plains/Hot Springs Horsemen 11-10 on Friday.

Pitcher Chance Bockman gave up 11 runs in the first inning against Florence-Carlton; Canyon Sargent gave up another seven in two innings; and Caleb Dunevin kept it to one in the final inning.

Mission’s four runs came in the third inning at the hands Jake Helser, Kellen McClure, Sargent and Jason Leishman.

The contest against the Horsemen was tighter, with Mission notching four runs in the first inning, and six in the fourth. McClure pitched the first 4 innings, giving up six runs and five hits, and striking out 10 batters; Dunevin stepped in for the final rounds, giving up five runs and six hits.

Sargent passed home plate three times, followed by Helser, McClure and Brody Brown, each with two runs.
